Frequently asked questions
Is this allowed by Google and the FTC?
Yes. Asking your own customers for reviews is allowed. What Google and the FTC's 2024 rule on reviews prohibit is fake reviews, hiding the public review option from unhappy customers, or paying for positive ones. BuonaFama always shows the public review link to everyone and never offers discounts or gifts for reviews.
What happens if a customer is unhappy?
We first invite them to tell you privately, and you get an alert right away, so you can make it right. They can still post a public review if they want to.
Do you write reviews?
No, never. Only your real customers write reviews. We write the replies to reviews, on your behalf.
What about Yelp?
Yelp asks businesses not to request reviews, so we only invite customers to review you on Google (and Tripadvisor for restaurants and hotels). For Yelp, we help you reply to the reviews you get.
What is the pilot?
We're working with a small group of local businesses to fine-tune BuonaFama. Pilot businesses use it for free and share their feedback. At the end you decide whether to continue, with no obligation.
Can I approve replies before they go live?
Yes. With Do it yourself, the AI drafts the reply and you read it, edit it if you like, and decide whether to post it. Nothing goes out without your OK.
I don't have a Google Business Profile. Can I still use it?
Yes. We'll set it up with you: photos, description, hours, categories and Google verification. The profile always stays yours, under your own account.
Do I need to be good with computers?
Not with Done for you: we set everything up with you on a video call and take care of the replies. You only get the alerts that matter.
Is the app in English?
Your customers see everything in English (and in Spanish, German and French). The owner dashboard is in Italian today, with English coming soon. With Done for you, we run it for you.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend me?
No, nobody can. AI answers vary from person to person. What we can do is improve the information they rely on: reviews, a complete Google profile, and consistent details everywhere.
